About The Designer
New York , NY ... “If you are born with talents, use them; don’t just put them away in a box.” proclaims Texan Jill Reno, the talented director of the Jill Reno Collection. This philosophy guides her in creating unique and breathtaking pieces of jewelry for women all over the world.
Growing up in Texas as the granddaughter of famed bronze sculptor,
Jim Reno( www.jimreno.com), has
allowed Jill to develop and refine her artistic abilities from a very
young age. Seeing her grandfather’s work showcased at The White
House and the entrance of the annual Kentucky Derby Horse Park, made her explore
the possibilities of her natural talents. However, Jill Reno did not want
to rely on her grandfather’s legacy for her own career.
Jill graduated Magna Cum Laude from
Schreiner University with a degree in business, but
was still searching for her true calling. Unsure of what
road to choose, she furthered her passion for travel and
exploration of other cultures by attending the Belles Artes in
San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. To develop her rediscovered talent for art and
design, she decided to study under the best and thus she headed back
to her roots. Jill spent the next year apprenticing with her grandfather
in Texas.
Reno's major creative distinction is the
ability to translate the heart of a culture into pieces of jewelry.
It is this ability to speak to the human soul through jewelry that
causes such strong reactions among her clients. The emotional response
and connection that she experiences with people who wear her artwork is
the favorite part of Reno’s job.
“My grandfather taught me that the best art provokes an emotional reaction from the viewer. Every time I see someone’s face light up after looking at themselves in one of my pieces, I know I have accomplished my goal.”
Jill, her husband Peter, and daughter, Julie, reside in Houston, Texas. Needless
to say, Jill is excited about the legacy she gets to pass down to her daughter.
